Good Shepherd Ministries remains at the service of the poor and homeless of our City. In response to COVID-19, Good Shepherd Ministries has reduced its meal program to offer bagged lunches from 2 – 4 pm. The organization is taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone who enters and uses its facilities in adherence to Public Health Agency of Canada.

Contact 416.869.3619 or info@goodshepherd.ca for more information on how you can help during this health crisis. For donations not made online, we ask for your patience as the issuance of tax receipts may be delayed. Thank you.

Concerning COVID 19

Programs & Services

We will continue to operate the following programs, with some modifications.

  • Meal Program: Lunches are distributed daily from 2pm to 4pm.
  • Shelter in place: We are accommodating 97 individuals, including Drug & Alcohol Enrichment Program (DARE) clients, at two separate locations to implement social distancing and enhance the health and safety of all.
  • Counselling: Group counselling activity is suspended. Our counsellors will continue to operate via telephone and remain available for in-person intervention and response.
  • Registered Nurse Services: Our RN remains on-site and will provide virus screening.
  • Barrett House & St. Joseph’s Residence: These residences continue to be fully operational, but visitors are restricted.

Our Facilities

We take very seriously the health and wellbeing of everyone who enters our facilities, and all volunteers and visitors are being diligently screened each day, and temperatures are being closely monitored.

We’ve also accelerated the cleaning of our facilities and put in place full infection control protocols. In addition, we’ve installed more hand sanitization units and educated all of our volunteers on: COVID-19 detection, physical distancing, hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment.
