What an evening it was!
The ‘angels’ came out by the hundreds for “ANGELS AMONG US”, the 2018 Good Shepherd Gala.
Thanks to the upbeat energy and humour of host Andria Case of CTV, the evening flew by. Guests enjoyed delicious food, a great live band, more than 170 auction items, and a lottery with a grand prize of $100,000 (license 9414).
Our sponsors — Mattamy Homes, BMO, and bypeterandpauls.com — helped to create a setting fit for angels. Golden orchids swung from the centrepieces, and golden stars swirled over the floors and walls.
Abby Hall, a talented young singer-songwriter from Burlington, gave a debut performance of her song ‘Angels’ to accompany a video about the work of Good Shepherd Ministries. (Click here to see that video on Good Shepherd’s Youtube channel.)
What was most on display at the Gala, however, was a treasure beyond gold. The compassion and generosity of guests helped raise funds that will work throughout the year to give food, shelter, clothing and more to people in need.
Thank you to everyone who participated — as a benefactor, sponsor, guest, and volunteer. You make compassion come alive. You are the ‘angels among us’.
