Just as the Good Shepherd Golf Tournament was about to begin on July 14, the rain rolled away, the sun came out, and more than 300 golfers enjoyed a perfect day of golf.
When Chairman Vern Zapfe stood up at dinner to thank the sponsors, golfers, and donors, he also thanked the benevolent forces that have made sure that the Golf Tournament has never been rained out in its 21-year history.
Funny-man Mike Bullard acted as MC for the evening and made sure that no-one will ever forget who won “Winnie the Bear” in the Live Auction.
Brother David described the Golf Tournament as a lifeline, bringing much-needed funds to serve those most in need.
It’s a lifeline sustained by incredible sponsors — Urbacon, IUPAT, Rosscor, Bailey Metal Products, Builders Supplies Limited, CDS, CGC, Four Seasons Drywall Systems & Acoustics, Ontario Acoustic Supply, and FMAV. It’s sustained by generous and loyal golfers, and by a volunteer Board of Directors that has works miracles in support of the work of Good Shepherd Ministries. Big thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s Good Shepherd Golf Tournament and Dream Lottery.
