Gathering for 20 years to help the homeless

What happens when 1,000 concerned and caring people gather to raise funds to help the homeless?

The world changes.

On February 20 at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue in Woodbridge, 1,000 people will come together to make the world more compassionate, more caring, more responsive.

This year, the Good Shepherd Gala marks its 20th anniversary. Each Gala has raised funds that have made it possible for Good Shepherd to expand its services for the homeless — to grow to meet the growing need in our community.

In 2015, proceeds from the Gala helped Good Shepherd to:

– serve 413,772 meals to people who would otherwise have gone hungry;

– help 234 homeless men to find housing;

– help 282 homeless men with addictions to benefit from the pre-treatment services of the DARE Program,  with 132 men graduating to treatment;

– provide nursing care (2,455 visits) plus specialized services ranging from foot care to psychiatric care (412 visits).

We are grateful to the sponsors, auction donors, volunteers and guests who have participated and those who have renewed their support for 2016.

If you are interested in attending or contributing to the Gala, please get in touch! You can send an e-mail to or call 416.869.3619 x 262 for more information.
